Why is Love the Biggest Theme in The Bible?
Love is the biggest theme in the Bible, I believe, for its ties to passion. All creatures are driven by something. Passion and drive and love are all connected, whether someone’s drive comes from the love of money, or of revenge, of power, or of a desire to be loved. Jesus’ drive was to please His father, more specifically from His love for God. Even God’s motivation came from love. Hence, the creation of the world.
The God head was perfectly complete before the creation of humankind. God did not create us out of boredom or lack of excitement; we know He created us for His glory (Isaiah 43:7). The trinity was full of love and perfection.
“…your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
Matthew 5:48b
Love brings creation
You are truly a product of God’s love and He made you to reflect Him. That fact alone should spark a sense of completeness within us.

4 Types of Love
According to C.S Lewis in his novel, The Four Loves, there are different types of love, including:
In reference to BibleReasons.com, agape is sacrificial love backed by action.
Storge is family love.
Phileo is brotherly love.
Eros is romantic love.
Love is powerful
Love is the biggest theme in the Bible because it is powerful.
Eros–When you think of romantic love, you may think of Valentine’s day, and of course, Cupid with his bows and arrows of love. Eros love is powerful enough to hurt. It is powerful enough to drive humankind to near insanity over another.
Phileo—When you think of brotherly love, you may think of your good friends. There is something so powerful about between friends. You have someone to do life with and it is someone you chose. Friends have the power to lead you closer to Christ or in the opposite direction. That is why it is vital to your friends wisely. Click here for more information.
Storge–With siblings, you often find yourself fighting with them, and yet, despite the glaring differences, you love them with a deep love that no mortal can understand. Sibling love shows the world that no matter who you are or what personality type you have, it is possible to love anyone. You may not like siblings all of the time, but you sure do love them. With parents, the same applies; however, one vital wrench is thrown into the mix; respect.
Agape—Agape love is the most powerful love of all. With the right focus, agape love can and has changed the world. The trinity’s agape love for creation sent Jesus to die so that we can live. This type of love is backed by action, and action is what comes from drive.
In Closing
Love is the biggest theme in the Bible because each type of love is another form of power, and love penetrates everything and everyone. God is driven by love and we are, too. It has the potential to bring creation and destruction, peace and war, good and evil. It all depends on your focus.
